Event Planning and Coordination

KAI provides high-quality event coordination for local, regional, national, and international meetings, roundtables, and conferences ranging in size from 20 to 2,000 participants. We manage logistics for all phases of the event planning process including site selection and hotel negotiations; planning committee facilitation; advance communications, announcements, and registration; agenda, signage, and materials development; exhibitor, speaker, and VIP coordination; travel arrangements; onsite assistance; recording; reporting; event evaluation; and all related follow-up activities. KAI tailors products for each event based on size, complexity, location, audience, and subject matter. Our commitment to quality has resulted in single events becoming long-term working relationships. Examples of our work include the following:

  • Five technical assistance workshops held in four cities over five days
  • A discretionary grant review forum that was planned and carried out in just four weeks
  • Field listening sessions with verbatim transcriptions and summaries
  • The nation’s premier conference on Native American behavioral health issues, which has been produced for five consecutive years
  • Continuing education documentation
  • Promotional materials, briefing books, agendas, and reports in printed and electronic formats

Facilitation and Mediation

KAI provides meeting or group facilitation for small and large groups. Employing group facilitation methods that encourage a high degree of participation, KAI minimizes discussion dominance and creates an environment where participants’ contributions are valued. We also provide mediation assistance. Using exercises to reduce the level of emotion and focus on the needs of divergent groups, we identify shared strategies to overcome differences. With expertise in federal Indian law and justification on and near federal Indian reservations, the company is available for facilitation to meet government-to-government responsibilities.

Strategic Planning

The company performs strategic planning in the areas of urban and rural health systems, community and economic development, and organizational consultation. Our activities often include conducting feasibility studies, facilitating discussions, gaining consensus from divergent interests, navigating legal processes such as self-governance and Public Law 93-638, and developing templates of health systems.

Organizational Development

KAI's experienced and culturally competent staff members actively pursue professional development in areas contributing to organizational consultation skills. We attend community readiness seminars, group facilitation workshops, and communication trainings. Employing methods that are holistic, inclusive, and sensitive to diverse cultures, we collaborate with clients to identify organizational problems; generate solutions that promote organizational health and well-being; and ensure that the mission, values, and culture of the organization, as well those it serves, are always reflected.
