IndigeSpirit: Butterfly Woman

Tuesday, May 26, 2020

We are honored to celebrate the work of Barbara Aragon (Laguna Pueblo/Crow) for the IndigeSpirit: Stories of Resilience campaign. Her recent digital story, Butterfly Woman, is a beautiful retelling of a traditional indigenous story and serves as a tool to help others discuss and process grief. Meet the storyteller here, and watch Butterfly Woman.

What is IndigeSpirit?

KAI seeks to lift up our families and communities by shining a light on the strength, persistence, and ancient values that underpin our resilience, to not only survive, but to thrive. We are seeking stories of resilience during this time of COVID-19 pandemic to lift up people making an impact locally, regionally, or nationally.

If you know someone making a difference in your community, please help us find them so we can lift them up through this IndigeSpirit social media campaign. Each person profiled will be asked to record a 30-second video (using their own cell phones) and provide a brief narrative including:

  • Their name, location and if Native, tribal affiliation
  • Description of the work they are doing that is making a difference
  • Words of encouragement to others.

Please email all videos to: julia.keefe@kauffmaninc.com

KAI will make a financial contribution to each person (or a charity of their selection) profiled in this campaign.

Stay safe and stay healthy!
