AI/AN Youth Marijuana Prevention Campaign

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) aims to prevent and reduce the use of marijuana by youth ages 12 to 20, especially among populations that are most adversely affected by marijuana use. DOH identified African American; Hispanic and Latino; Asian American and Pacific Islander; gay, lesbian, and transgender; and American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities as populations of focus for this program. To engage AI/AN communities throughout the state, WA DOH partnered withKAI to provide culturally tailored communications support for this campaign. To help achieve DOH's prevention goals, KAI conducted formative research, developd a comprehensive communications and partnership plan, and developed and disseminated campaign materials throughout the state.
